Why this wave earned the deepest commitment, and what CiteHQ.io is building toward.
This continues the story from CiteHQ.io's About Us page — David Maruyama's 20 years of venture-building, and the fourteen months with OmniStem that became the proof of concept for CiteHQ.io itself. What follows is the fuller picture: where the work is focused today, and the larger vision it is part of.
Drawn by the growing number of emerging medtech and biotech ventures coming out of Houston's Texas Medical Center, David identified a focus especially close to his own experience. OmniStem proved the model in one of the most tightly regulated, physician-driven categories there is — and that same discipline applies directly to medtech and biotech companies in Houston working to improve human wellbeing. David has spent his career being the person a technical founder brings in when the science is ready but the commercial story is not — and he is the one who builds and executes that story from the ground up. Today, those founders are increasingly being found, funded, and referred through the same AI systems everyone else has started asking first, letting the world come to know their success and their progress. The success of these companies in reaching their goals will bring wellbeing to people, and we want to be part of that process.
This is not a claim of deep technical expertise in how large language models work. It is the same pattern recognition that took a first-time mobile operator to profitability against a state monopoly, that saw a banking platform where everyone else saw a phone company, that built distribution into neighborhoods the national carriers had written off. Knowing which parts of a technology shift are real and which are narrative is a skill, not a credential — and it is the skill this entire record was built proving.
The instinct points beyond Houston, too. David is also working on several ventures to bring some of the world's best-made products directly to US consumers: organic cotton grown and milled in Japan for newborn products, organic cacao from Ecuador, alpaca fiber from Peru. Different products, different countries, all still early-stage — but all sharing the same commitment to wellbeing: the safety and quality a genuinely organic product gives a newborn, and the livelihoods these industries sustain in the communities where they're grown. The same question behind every one of them: how does something genuinely excellent, made far from the customer who needs it, actually get found?
That question is exactly why AI/AEO/GEO leadership matters beyond CiteHQ.io's client work. AI's growing role in research, modeling, and identifying niches through digital channels is going to be the way forward for any product that deserves to be found on merit rather than on whichever incumbent already owns the shelf space or the search results. Understanding that shift — and leading it — is the key step toward the larger vision. CiteHQ.io is where that capability is being built and proven, one Houston client at a time, and it is the same capability every one of those global sourcing ventures will eventually depend on to reach the people looking for exactly what they offer.
Of everything in this professional experience — the telecom infrastructure, the mobile networks, the ventures still being built — one wave has earned David's deepest commitment: AI/AEO/GEO. It is emerging, changing rapidly, already reshaping business results, and the possibilities in front of it are still mostly unwritten. That is exactly why it gets the priority.
Visibility is only the first layer. AI systems do not just decide whether a brand gets found — they amplify how that brand is perceived once it is. A citation is not neutral; it carries the system's own synthesis of everything it knows about a company, good and bad. That changes what the work is actually about. Getting found is the entry point. Becoming genuinely excellent — best in class, not just best optimized — is what determines whether that amplification works for a brand or against it.
AI also changes the precision the work can aim for — and this is the edge CiteHQ.io is building against everyone else in the category. Understanding how a market actually feels about a brand, not just what it clicks on, but the emotional read behind the hesitation, the trust, the doubt, used to take quarters of research and a fair amount of guessing. That capability has a name: CiteRE, CiteHQ.io's proprietary Resonance Engine. The core model runs today, decoding that signal in real time rather than waiting for the quarter to close — and it grows more precise with every engagement it learns from, the same work OmniStem started fourteen months ago, still compounding.
CiteRE is not a technical tool dressed up as a differentiator. It goes back to the oldest instinct in marketing — understanding what a person actually feels before they decide to trust something — applied to a medium that didn't exist when that instinct was first any good: the answer an AI system gives before a human ever reaches a website.
The anchor is the same four pillars that carried every venture in this professional experience: financial discipline, results focus, leadership, and business creativity. Alongside them sits one commitment specific to this wave — to become the genuine expert for every brand CiteHQ.io works with, not a vendor running a checklist. That is not a bet on hype. It is a bet on the same discipline that has always worked, pointed at the biggest wave David has seen yet — and a bet that the brands willing to become genuinely best in class are the ones this amplification will reward.
Behind all the technology, all the businesses, and every venture in this professional experience — from telecom infrastructure to today's AI positioning — there is a deeper interest: using each era's most advanced technology to improve the wellbeing of humanity. That is the underlying connection in every plan, every effort, and every venture.
